Australia’s largest independent is putting some Power into the fight against prostate cancer

Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia (PCFA)

Every year 1.3 million men worldwide are diagnosed with prostate cancer. Notably, Australia has one of the highest incidence rates internationally, with 1 in 7 Australian men likely to be diagnosed during their lifetime. Around 20,000 Australian men receive the devastating news that they have prostate cancer each year.

Tyrepower is proud to have been a Major Partner of Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia (PCFA) since 2015 raising vital funds and awareness in the fight against prostate cancer.

Prostate cancer is a cause close to the hearts of many in the Tyrepower family, having impacted store-holders, staff and customers. Tyrepower is helping to drive awareness of prostate cancer risk and the support services available through PCFA by sponsoring public-health messages targeting men at risk, along with those who love them.

Creative messages with Supercars, online and also in Tyrepower stores have further extended this awareness message to the community. Together, we’ve helped to create a lasting impact on the experience of prostate cancer for Australian men.

Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia (PCFA) is a broad-based community organisation and the peak national body for prostate cancer in Australia. Dedicated to reducing the impact of prostate cancer on Australian men, their partners, families and the wider community, recognising the diversity of the Australian community.

They do this by:

  • Promoting and funding world leading, innovative research into prostate cancer
  • Implementing awareness and advocacy campaigns and education programs for the Australian community, health professionals and Government
  • Supporting men and their families affected by prostate cancer through evidence-based information and resources, support groups and Prostate Cancer Specialist Nurses
